Barbara Jean Turner,85, of Banner, MS. left this world peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 23, 1939, in the Rocky Mount Community, Barbara’s life was marked by her devotion to family and her unwavering work ethic.
Barbara spent her years as a dedicated homemaker, bringing warmth and comfort to her loved ones. Her industrious spirit shone through in various roles she held before retiring, including positions at Glenn Slacks, Brookwood, United Chair, and Meals on Wheels. Even in retirement, she found joy in tending her yard and spending time with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren: Hannah Rose, Emma Kate, Sophie Ann, and Anna Grace, as well as her great-grandchild, Gracelyn. Her strong commitment to family values and nurturing spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her two sons, Sammy (Jennifer) Turner of Helena AL, and Tracy (Judy) Turner of Banner, MS, and her sister Ann McKibben of Bruce, MS. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
A public viewing will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on January 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM, allowing all who knew Barbara to come together to honor her memory. Following the viewing, a funeral service will be held in the chapel at Parker Memorial Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest in Antioch Cemetery. Barry Lee, Bucky Lee, Chad Lee, Lance Lee, Landon Lee, Tim Earl McCormick, and Tony McCormick will serve as pallbearers.
As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, we invite all who loved Barbara to join us in remembrance and reflection. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege to share in her journey.
