Rachel Irene McNeely

Mrs. Rachel Irene McNeely, 86 of Oxford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Monday, February 10, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. The funeral will be Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Bain officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery.

Rachel was born in the Etta community of Union County on November 23, 1937. She worked alongside her late husband, Linder, for forty years in the insurance business and enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage. An active member of North Oxford Baptist Church, Rachel was always working with youth groups, teaching Sunday school, and other activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linder Gayle McNeely.

Rachel is survived by three sons, Robert “Bobby” McNeely of Moody, AL, Richard “Rick” McNeely and his wife, Susie, of Hendersonville, TN, and James “Jim” McNeely and his wife, Molly, of Oxford, MS; as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
