Mary Lee “Miss Daisy” Michael
Baldwyn- Mary Lee “Miss Daisy” Michael,90, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Miss Daisy worked as a secretary for Baldwyn Schools for many years and she worked for Gentry Insurance for 20 plus years. After her husband passed in 2009 she worked at B & M Motors until she closed it. Miss Daisy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and she had been a member since she was nine years old. She had a servant’s heart and she served on several committees at church, sang in the choir for 50 plus years, taught Sunday School, she loved reading and she faithfully read her Bible. Her and her husband built their home in 1963. They adopted their son, Kerry in 1966 at seven weeks old and seven years later, they adopted their daughter, Kristin at three weeks old. She loved getting together with her classmates for class reunions and she will be missed by her friends and family. Miss Daisy was known for her wit and generous spirit. She had a way of making everyone feel special and she was special to everyone that knew her.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Baldwyn on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 @ 2:00 p. m. with Dr. Terry Cutrer and Bro. Stanley Huddleston officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Michael of the home; son, Kerry Michael of Baldwyn; nephew, Heath Strickland; cousin, DeWayne Newman; special friends, Melanie Hall, Rosemary Carpenter, Donna Aldridge, Connie Moore and Jane Perkey; her church family and other friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Michael; grandson, Trey Michael; sister, Sandy Gunter; brother-in-law, George Gunter; brother, Harry Strickland; parents, Roy and Erma Strickland.
Pallbearers will be Danny Bishop, Jason McKay, Neil Davis, Mark Tapp, DeWayne Newman and Jeff Roberson.
Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from noon until service time @ 2:00 p. m.
