Arthur "Dewayne" Coleman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 7, 2025. He was born on February 26, 1950, in Bruce, MS, and had a profound impact on the lives of those who knew him. Dewayne was known affectionately as "Gomer" by family and friends, a testament to the warmth and humor he shared.
Dewayne's journey through education concluded with his time at Randolph High School, where he graduated in 1969. He dedicated many years of his life to his work, having retired from Metalloy Co. in Verona, MS.
Dewayne's passions were diverse and shaped his vibrant personality. An avid enthusiast of car shows, he spent many weekends admiring treasured vehicles and sharing stories with fellow car aficionados. When he wasn't at car shows, Dewayne could often be found in the woods hunting deer with his father and son, enjoying breakfast with friends, and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger.
Dewayne is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Joyce Conaway Coleman, along with: son Chris (Margaret) Coleman of Ft. Leavenworth, KS, daughter Tracy (Joey) Britt of Columbus, MS and, Step Daughter Casey (J.P.) Davis of Pontotoc, MS. His legacy carries on in his grandchildren- Jacob Coleman, Jared Coleman, Hunter Hobson, Jordan Britt, Hannah Britt, Emma Britt, Jacob Britt, Makenzie Putt, and Jett Davis, as well as his five great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Dewayne's family appreciates the love and support they have received during this difficult time. In reflection of his life and the memories they hold dear, visitation will be held on June 10, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. This will be followed by a funeral service on June 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Gerald Finley officiating at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce, MS, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Dewayne's remarkable life and the cherished moments they shared. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Bruce, MS.
Serving as Pallbearers are Brad Dobbs, Jamie Culpepper, John Moore, Charles Chrestman, Martin Bell, and Raymond Moody.
Dewayne was preceded in death by: his father, John Thomas "Carl" Coleman, mother, Faye Reynolds Coleman, and brother, Delaine Coleman
