Carolyn Etoyle Nix, beloved sister and cherished friend, was born on July 21, 1943, in Big Creek, Mississippi she was the daughter of the late William Bryan Nix Sr. and the late Lilly Belle Nix. Carolyn departed this life on June 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and joyful memories.
Carolyn spent her life in Bruce, Mississippi, where she formed enduring connections with family and friends. She found delight in simple pleasures, such as walking to her mailbox to collect her mail, tending to her vibrant garden, and swinging gently on her porch swing as she enjoyed the beauty of her surroundings. A devoted member of her church, Carolyn cherished singing and participating in community activities, always sharing her love for music and fellowship. Her fondness for Dr. Pepper and 3 Musketeers candy brought sweet moments to her days, reflecting her joyful spirit.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Jean Burt of Florence, MS and Shirley Edwards of Bruce, MS, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and affection. Carolyn's generous heart and nurturing nature touched the lives of many and her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation to pay respect to Carolyn will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on June 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service in the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM officiated by Bro. Jerry Wilson and Dr. Kenneth Armstrong. She will be laid to rest at Tabennacle Cemetery in Pittsboro, MS, on the same day, as family and friends gather to celebrate her life and bid her a heartfelt farewell.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, William Bryan Nix Sr., mother, Lilly Nix, brothers, James Nix, and Bryan Nix Jr., sisters, Peggy Burt, Ruby Logan, and Francis Nix.
