Rosann Delores Hudson

January 9, 1940 ~ July 13, 2025

Rosann Delores Pinto was born on January 9, 1940, in Evanston, Illinois. She met the love of her life, Bob Hudson, during high school, and after graduating from the University of Illinois, the two married—beginning a lifelong journey of partnership, family, and purpose.

In 1978, Rosann and Bob, along with their 4 children, moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where they opened the town’s first McDonald’s restaurant. A confident and accomplished businesswoman, Rosann played a pivotal role in growing their business into a network of McDonald’s locations across North Mississippi, which they successfully operated for more than 30 years. Her impact, however, extended far beyond business. She was deeply committed to the Oxford community, serving faithfully on a variety of boards and committees. Of all these roles, her favorite was simply being “Nonny” to her many grandchildren.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Rosann was a daily presence at St. John’s Catholic Church, where she found strength, peace, and connection through her regular attendance at Mass.

Rosann and Bob shared a passion for travel and adventure, making unforgettable memories aboard the QE2 and the Orient Express. Her adventurous spirit remained strong even in later years—celebrating her 75th birthday by skydiving with her son and grandchildren. Known for her elegance and joy, Rosann loved to dance, host beautifully curated family dinners, and spend time reading—a quiet joy that balanced her vibrant life.

Rosann will be remembered for her warmth, grace, and deep devotion to her family and community. She is survived by her four children: Vickie Lato (Frank), Rob Hudson (Tracy), Scott Hudson, and Terri Boswell (O’Neal); her nine grandchildren: Hannah Nadler (Alexander), Larkin Hudson, Mary Grace Hudson, Caroline Slayden (Campbell), Audrey Hudson, Lucy Hudson, Townes Hudson, Frank Lato, and Nicholas Lato; and her three great grandchildren: Isabella Marie Bailey, Lennon Love Slayden and Campbell James Slayden. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Therese Rubey, and many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hudson; her parents, Victor and Lucy Pinto; and her brother, Charles Pinto.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church in Oxford, MS, on Friday, July 18 at 3:00 p.m preceded by visitation from 1:30 – 2:45pm and the Holy Rosary at approximately 2:45 p.m. Waller Funeral Home is in Charge of Arrangements.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Enterprise, AL, at Circle T Ranch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosann’s memory to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 403 University Avenue, Oxford, Mississippi 38655.
