Jerry Mac Locke

Mr. Jerry Mac Locke, Sr, 89, passed away on September 10, 2025, at his home in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at North Oxford Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Williams and Dr. Morris Baker officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.

Born in Oxford, MS on November 9, 1935, to the late Albert Byron and Ada Lewis Locke, Mr. Locke was the widower of Carrie Ann Alderson Locke. Hard work was instilled from a very young age while working alongside his dad on their farm and the work ethic continued throughout his life and service in the United States National Guard. Following a career as a crane operator with the Tennessee Valley Authority, Mr. Locke could often be be found on his tractor. As a long-term member of North Oxford Baptist Church, he greatly enjoyed fellowships with his church family and also enjoyed spending time visiting other churches including Clear Creek Baptist Church. He greatly enjoyed traveling and even cruised as recently as August of this year. His family recalls with a laugh that he could always be found at church events when food was involved! Mr. Locke’s positive and happy attitude will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry Locke (Patty) and Walter Locke (Kim) both of Oxford, MS; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and special friend, Wanda Ivy.
