Hester McCarley
Baldwyn- Phillip Hester McCarley, 82, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after an extended illness. He was of the Baptist faith and was a National Guard Veteran. He worked and retired as a USPS mail carrier. He enjoyed hunting, Crappie fishing and said they were his job after he retired. He would say he was taking sick leave when he would miss a day. Growing watermelons, farming, raising cattle, loafing and making his loops daily and picking on folks were his enjoyment in life plus spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Chuck Boxx and Minister Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in Pratt Cemetery.
He is survived by daughters, Sharon Roberts, Melissa McCarley and Jennifer Reno all of Baldwyn, grandchildren, Krysta Shatswell & Tony, Alexandria Bennett & Jessie, Will Roberts & Cheyenne, Harleigh Roberts & Hunter and John McCarley, great grandchildren, Kamryn, Forrest, Micah, Ayden, Charlotte and Denver, also a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Conard & Gladys Garrett McCarley, brothers, R.C. McCarley and Junior McCarley and a grandson, Jimmy Reno.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Foster, Tony Swallow, Jessie Bennett, Ashley Rodgers, Will Roberts and Hunter Beal.
Honorary Pallbearers will be John McCarley, Jimmy Michael, Mark Tapp, Bud Williams, Mac Gregory, Andy Gregory, Robin Conwill, Rusty Rutherford, Buck Edge and Walter Gentry.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. until
