April Elizabeth Haynes

April Elizabeth Haynes, 58, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at The Elison in Oxford, MS. Visitation will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, MS. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Lambert Memorial Cemetery in Lambert, MS, with Rev. Fish Robinson officiating.

Miss Haynes was born in Clarksdale, MS on August 15, 1967, to the late Fletcher S. Haynes and Barbara Ann Smith Haynes. She spent most of her life in the Delta before relocating to Oxford with her mother in 2011. After moving to Oxford, April enjoyed volunteering in elementary classrooms sharing her love of reading with eager students. In addition to reading, April also enjoyed volunteering with many organizations including Earth Day for soil conservation. She enjoyed spending time with friends while attending camps for adults with special needs but, most of all, April loved her dog, Missy.

In addition to her parents, April was preceded in death by her nephew, Justin Haynes.

Miss Haynes is survived by a sister, Sandra Carlton and her husband, Ed, of Dallas, TX; a brother, Sandy Haynes and his wife, Kathy, of Oxford, MS; nieces and nephews, Randall Mize and her husband, Lee, Austin Haynes and his wife, Hanna, Cassie Stubblefield and her husband, Zach, and Chase Carlton; and three great-nieces, Bailey, Mary Conlee, and Hallie Rae.
