Mr. Tommy Lee Evans, age 73, died Monday, March 16, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. A graveside service will be held at Eastover Memorial Cemetery in Oxford, MS on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Brother Jeff Taylor officiating.
Mr. Evans was born on January 20, 1953, in Oxford, MS to the late Harvey Thomas Evans and Dorothy Beard Evans. Tommy had a love of learning and watched many YouTube instructional videos; whether researching NASA, learning how things are made, or how things worked, he enjoyed it all. As an avid coin collector, he could be found wandering outdoors with a metal detector in hand. Tinkering on his lawn mower was a relaxing hobby Tommy enjoyed. He truly adored his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans preceded in death by his brother, William Evans, and sister, Evelyn Knighton.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Johnson of Oxford, MS; his sister, Rose Jackson (Stacey); two grandchildren, Charlie Johnson, and Samantha Johnson; and great-grandchild, Evidence Fitzgerald.
