Rickey Pannell

Greenwood- Rickey Pannell , 70, formerly of Baldwyn, MS passed away on March 23, 2026 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. He was born on May 31, 1955 in Alpine, MS. He enjoyed buying and selling cars, listening to 60”s music, watching westerns and spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He was an employee of Union County Solid Waste for 15 years before retiring from the county. He also was a bus driver for East Union Schools and owner of Rick’s Used Car’s. Rickey’s favorite line was “If you need me, call me” and he truly meant if for all his family and friends. He was member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, 2026 @ 1:00 p. m. with Bro. Marvin Robbins and Commander Chris West Chaplain U.S. Navy officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Butler Pannell; daughter, Brandi Pillow (Watson) of Greenwood; grandson, William Pillow; sisters, Linda Roberts of Tupelo and Janie Conway (Mike) of New Albany; brother, Mitchell Pannell of Baldwyn; sister-in-law, Diane West (James); numerous nieces and nephews; host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyce Lee and Ovie Mae Pannell; infant daughter, Kelli Diane Pannell; sister, Willie Helton; brothers, Marvin Pannell, Norman Pannell, Daniel Pannell and Gene Pannell.

Pallbearers will be his nephews and his friends, Danny Johnson and Danny Jourdan.

Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00- 8:00 p. m. and Saturday morning prior to the service.
