Jackie Rakestraw

Jericho- Jackie Rakestraw, 81, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at his home. He enjoyed making music, playing guitar and fishing. He served as a deacon, song leader and president of the brotherhood at Jericho Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member. He retired from Super Sagless Inc.

Funeral services will be held at Jericho Baptist Church on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:00p.m. with Bro. Chris McCluskey officiating. Burial will be in Jericho Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife Jan Rakestraw (Jericho), son Michael Rakestraw (Jericho), Step son Wesley Gargus (Sally) of Booneville, 3 Step Grandchildren Zackery Gargus, Zane Gargus and Bryton Gargus, one step-greatgrandchild Beckham Gargus and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Christine Epting and Herman Rakestraw, 3 brothers Norman “Cotton” Rakestraw, Dud Rakestraw and Harold Rakestraw. His 1st wife Virginia Rakestraw and Stepson Patrick Gargus.

Visitation will be at Jericho Baptist Church Saturday March 28, 2026 from 1:00 until service time at 3:00 p.m.
