Bobbie Nell Blount

November 14, 1930 – February 09, 2020

Bobbie Nell Blount, 89, of Calhoun City departed for her eternal home in glory on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Bruce Community Living Center. Born on November 14, 1930 in Chickasaw County, Bobbie was the daughter of the late Aron Chesley Bray and Mattie Lou Lovelace Bray Roper.

Bobbie was a woman with a multitude of marvelous characteristics. A talented soul, Bobbie was skilled at playing the piano and organ and singing. She donated her time and skills to singing schools; instructing students in a variety of musical skills. In addition to her musical abilities, Bobbie was a phenomenal cook and found joy in sharing with others her culinary creations. Stitching and mending were also in her set of skills as a well-rounded seamstress. As an entrepreneur, Bobbie spent many years of her life working alongside her husband as the owners of Blount’s Dry Cleaners and was a fearless bail bonding agent.

Bobbie is survived by her son A.D. (Linda) Blount of Calhoun City, Mississippi; grandchildren: Doyce (Rena) Blount, Daniel Blount, and Allison (Justin) Nichols; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Aron Chesley Bray and Mattie Lou Lovelace Bray Roper, husband Wilburn Blount, son Wendell Blount, grandchildren: James Devin Blount and Beverly Nicole Blount, brothers: A.C. Bray, Bill Bray, and Lee Ottis Bray.

Bobbie will lie in repose from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Grace Fellowship Church in Calhoun City, Mississippi for friends and family to pay their respects. A celebration of life will take place begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the sanctuary of Grace Fellowship Church. Dr. John Warren and Bro. Jack Inmon will lead the celebration. Barry Blount, Daniel Blount, David Jordan, Justin Nichols, Mark Bray and Steve Bray will carry Bobbie to her resting place in serene Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
