Baldwyn- Janice Tarpley, 92, passed away on April,1 2026, at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also loved by many in her extended Honey Tree family.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2026. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Haley Uhrig will officiate. Burial will follow at Prentiss Memorial Garden Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Tarpley (Larry Powell) and Lisa Witt Roberts (Ricky Roberts); one son, Dickie Tarpley, all of Baldwyn; four grandchildren, Richard Witt (Tasha), Elliott Witt (Summer), Stuart Witt, and Genee Grace Burress (Blake); and eight great-grandchildren, Caden, Aidan, and Braxton Stewart, Finnley Witt, Rory and Anna-Liza Burress, Sam Elliott Witt, and Kaidynce Thomas; special great-nieces, Emma and Callie McGarrity.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard Tarpley of Baldwyn; her parents, Tice and Carra Bishop; two sisters, Manette Bedford and Waldeen Harkey Hill; three brothers, Joe Bishop, Harold Bishop, and Herman Ray Bishop; and two granddaughters, Anna-Lisa Stewart and Holly Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Richard Witt, Elliott Witt, Stuart Witt, Caden Stewart, Aidan Stewart, Braxton Stewart, Blake Burress, and Ricky Roberts.
