Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors for Carl Everett Crabb, 91, will be held at 1pm on Saturday February 22 at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Leatherwood and Bro. Wayne McKee officiating. Burial to follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Chewalla, TN.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 11am to service time.
Mr. Crabb died Wednesday February 19, 2020 at his Chewalla residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in McNairy County on September 30, 1928, to the late William and Anner Bright Crabb. He married the love of his life, Virginia Martindale on July 4, 1952, while serving in the United States Army. They enjoyed 67 years of life together. Mr. Crabb was a faithful member of Butlers Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his garden, riding his tractor, and mowing his yard. Mr. Crabb was an avid fan of the Tennessee Titans and Vols football teams. When he wasn’t watching football, Fox News was on the TV. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, including his grandkids that called him Papaw.
Survivors include his wife Virginia; a daughter, Carla King (Jeff); his sons, Scott Crabb (Nadine), Rick Crabb, and Bobby Crabb (Wanda); his grandchildren, Crystal Pruitt (Wayne), Caitlyn King, Lori Crabb, Rachel Bench, Andrea Archer (Monte), Misty Kelley (John), Christy Jarnagin (James), Brandy Helton (Tim), Chris Crabb (Sabrina) and Nicole Wallace; and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Crabb was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Levada Henson, Ollie Reed and Fannie Wooten; his brothers, Leonard, Alonzo, Leaburn, Leland, Lester, and LG; his son Mike Crabb; and two grandsons, Daniel Crabb and Jason Crabb.
Pallbearers are Jim Crabb, Terry Crabb, Bill Crabb, Reece Vaughn, David Fowler, and Larry Lancaster.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Davis, Kenneth Wallace, Mike King, and Jerry Kiser.
