Woodland- Mr. James Edward “Jimmy” Fant, 78, passed away on, November 7, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Jimmy was born in Woodland on January 30, 1941 to Quitman Mims Fant and Margaret Salome Wall. James retired from Sunco Chemical Plant. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, a certified firefighter, and a retired member of the United States Air Force. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Funeral Services will be held at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland, Mississippi on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. Wade Mathis officiating.
Burial will be at Fant Family Cemetery in Woodland, Mississippi.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge arrangements.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
James Fant is survived by his wife of 30 years, LaVerne Whitney Fant of Woodland, his sons; James Keith (Alisa) Fant of Woodland, and Logan (Jessica) Tarver of Hardin, Texas, and his two granddaughters, Maddyson Fant and Courtney Fant.
James Fant was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Quitman “Butch” Mims Fant Jr.
Pallbearers will be Keith McKinney, Carl Griffin, Jim Watkins, Bo Yeatman, Dennis Washington, David Hudson, Thomas Griffin, and Buster Heair.
