Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy Glen “JJ” Johnson, 68, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born in Booneville on June 6, 1951, to Fred Johnson and Ara Boone Johnson. He was a member of Thrasher Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves, bowling, basketball, and keeping up with Mississippi State sports.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Booneville Funeral Home with Bro. Dallas Vandiver officiating. Visitation will be Friday night from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his son, Robby Johnson; wife, Brenda Johnson; brothers, Ronnie Johnson (Sandy), Gary Johnson (Linda); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald Johnson, William Johnson, Joe Johnson, and Alvin Johnson.
