Mr. David Daniel Taylor, 72, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, in New Albany, MS. In accordance with current health advisories, the family is planning a private graveside service at Anchor Cemetery. A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date at North Oxford Baptist Church.
Born in Knoxville, TN to the late L. Dan and Helen Howes Taylor, David was a longtime member of North Oxford Baptist Church. David had a humble, kind spirit as he ministered to thousands over his 30+ years in ministry. He served as Minister of Music, led education and youth programs and worked in administration in various churches in Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Missouri and Mississippi. His passion was music and his gift was directing choir. In his late years, he served as Chaplain in several hospice groups. Above all, his greatest ministry was to his family, whom he loved with all of his heart. He was a great spiritual leader and a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were truly the light of his life for the last fifteen years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Curtis Taylor of Oxford; two daughters, Sharon Taylor Stinson and her husband, Jeremy of Brandon, MS and Karen Taylor Cassada and her husband, Matt of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Diane Cayton of Taylor, SC and Donna Seaman of Mt. Dora, FL; two brothers in law, Bob Curtis and his wife, Deb of Farmington, MO and Don Curtis and his wife, Jeanie of Plano, TX and three grandchildren, Carter Stinson, Taylor Cassada and Lindsee Cassada.
