PONTOTOC – John Jay Oxley, 74, passed away March 29, 2020 at Magnolia Assisted Living in New Albany, MS. John was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from Smith and Nephew in Memphis, TN. He was a loving husband and father. He loved to pick on people and make them laugh. He loved his children, church, and the Lord. He died knowing that he was going to a better place.
He is survived by his brother, W. Riley Oxley of FL; sisters, Elizabeth Sullivan of TX, Marie Bynum of LA, and Rose Melancon of TN; two sons, Michael Oxley and Jay Oxley of Germany; one daughter, Lisa Ritter of Germany; and one stepdaughter, Tammy Callens of Millington, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Oxley; mother, Virgle Oxley and his father, William Oxley.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 2PM at Ingomar Cemetery with Rev. James Jones, Rev. Glenn Dendy, and Rev. Buddy Gordon officiating.
