L.C. CONNER WAS BORN FOURTH OF 8 CHILDREN TO MR. EARL
AND MARY MAGDALENE CONNER (BOTH DECEASED). HE WAS
BORN ON FEBRUARY 20, 1960 IN CLARKSDALE, MISSISSIPPI. HE WAS BAPTIZED AT AN EARLY AGE AND WAS A FAITHFUL MEMBER OF TRUE BIBLEWAY CHURCH OF CLARKSDALE FOR MANY YEARS
UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF BISHOP F.M. DAWSON.
L.C. ATTENDED FRIARS POINT HIGH SCHOOL. LATER, HE DECIDED TO COMPLETE HIS GED AT JOB CORP. IN CRYSTAL SPRINGS MS AND BECAME A TRUCK DRIVER.
HE LATER MARRIED THE LOVE AND QUEEN OF HIS LIFE, BONNIE BRADFORD ON JUNE 29 TH 1985 AND MOVED TO NEW ALBANY MS. THEY WERE BLESSED WITH 3 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. HE WAS A DEVOTED HUSBAND AND FATHER. L.C. WAS A FAITHFUL MEMBER OF THE UNITED HOUSE OF PRAYER UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF BISHOP HENRY M. FINLEY. L.C. WAS A DEDICATED SERVANT IN GOD’S HOUSE. WHERE HE SUNG IN THE CHOIR, SERVED AS CHOIR PRESIDENT, YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER, DEACON, WHOLESOME SERVICE CONDUCTOR, AND LATER ACCEPTED HIS CALLING AS AN EVANGELIST. HE TRAVELED UP AND DOWN THE HIGHWAYS DOING THE WORK OF THE LORD, HE WENT OUT INTO THE STREETS MINISTERING TO SOULS AND BRINGING THEM TO CHRIST, AND HE ALSO HELD WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY AT HIS HOME WHERE HE INVITED PEOPLE TO COME.
L.C. WAS A HARDWORKING, DEDICATED, AND COMPASSIONATE TRUCK DRIVER FOR OVER 30 YEARS. HE STARTED OUT AT BLUE MOUNTAIN TRUCKING AND ALSO DROVE FOR A HOST OF OTHER COMPANIES. OVER THE COURSE OF HIS TRUCKING CAREER HE RECEIVED MANY AWARDS.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST HE WAS KNOWN OVER THE HIGHWAY AS “BO-PETE”. HE ENCOURAGED NEW DRIVER’S ON WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE A TRUCK DRIVER. HE LAST DROVE FOR BIG M TRUCKING UNTIL HIS HEALTH DECLINED.
L.C. LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS PRECIOUS MEMORIES OF 3 CHILDREN: MARQUEL CONNER, LARITA (JOSEPH) FOSTER, AND ZACKARY CONNER. HE WAS BLESSED WITH 6 GRANDCHILDREN THAT HE LOVED DEARLY: ZARIAH, CLARA ANN, KEMARI, INDYA, JOSIAH, AND HAVEN. L.C. IS SURVIVED BY 7 SIBLINGS: DOROTHY
JEAN STEWART OF GUNTOWN, MS, WILLIE CONNER OF GUNTOWN, MS, HATTIE MAE HARDIN OF RIPLEY, MS, JESSIE CONNER OF GUNNISON, MS, PAULINE HOGAN (ANTONIO) OF NEW ALBANY, MS, BURNETTE CONNER OF CHICAGO, IL, ADDIE EVERETTE (MARCUS) OF TUPELO, MS, AND A HOST OF NIECES, NEPHEWS, COUSINS, AUNTS, UNCLES AND OTHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
ONE OF HIS FAVORITE HOBBIES WAS SPORTS. HE LOVED TO TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEO EVERYONE. HE TRAVELED AROUND TO HIS CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN ATHLETIC COMPETITIONS. L.C. FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM WAS THE DALLAS COWBOYS. HE NEVER MET A STRANGER AND WAS LOVED BY MANY. HE HAS TRAVELED ALL 50 STATES. HE WAS OUTSTANDING AT GIVING DIRECTIONS AND KNEW HOW TO READ A MAP BEFORE GPS BECAME POPULAR. HE WAS VERY FUN TO BE AROUND AND NEVER A DULL MOMENT. HE LOVED TO GET HIS FAMILY TOGETHER AND BARBECUE. HE WOULD SIT IN HIS FAVORITE RECLINER AND WATCH EVERYONE’S
SMILE. ALSO, YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO HIM PREACHING AT THE GATHERINGS AND HE TREATED EVERYONE THE SAME. HE LOVED THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS FAMILY.
