We all love new beginnings. We love looking into a newborn baby’s eyes. We recall the first day of school or the first day of a dream job. We make memories getting married. A new house or car. Puppies, Springtime, makeovers, and remission.
Some new beginnings we resist when they are forced upon us. When death comes, it is often not welcomed. Trying to adjust to a new normal is often exhausting, lonely, and frustrating.
There are a couple of basic understandings that make life easier. (1) You and I were born unique in all the world. (2) We are only here a little while to play our part on the stage of life.
Luke 12:6-7 (ETRV)
6 “When birds are sold, five small birds cost only two pennies. But God does not forget any of them.
7 Yes, God even knows how many hairs you have on your head. Don’t be afraid. You are worth much more than many birds.
Each person has a different path to follow through life. However, I am convinced that if we all piled up our problems and challenges in the middle of the room and then we had to leave with as many troubles as we came in with — we’d leave with our own problems. The reason is that God gives us the grace to overcome — and that which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.
I have an idea that most of us are stronger than we think we are right now! The only way to know that is to weather the storms we are going through. Later on, looking back at our survival and success, we will be able to convince ourselves that we CAN be overcomers!
Some of us forget to remember that our time is short. Some of us forget to remember that our main job on this earth is to live a life that is a glory to God. Some of us forget to remember that we are unique in all the world.
Just as you and I were created unique in all the world in talents and looks, we were created unique in what we can offer humanity. You and I are uniquely qualified to be part of someone’s support system.
Don’t waste your next opportunity to be a blessing.
Today, you may be the comforter, or maybe you are in need of being comforted.
Whatever your situation, surround yourself with people who will support you, and go out behind the barn and think about how blessed you are, and come back into the mainstream of life and be on the lookout for someone who needs a helping hand.
You are one of a kind!
