Mrs. Marguerite E. Stafford, 86, passed away on April 11, 2020, at Dugan Nursing Home in West Point. She was born March 31, 1934 in Cairo to the late Emmett, Sr. and Sara Felder Edwards. She was the hotel manager of the Southern Inn in West Point for 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a friend to all that she came in contact with. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family. She also liked fishing in all the ponds in the community alongside her daddy. In the latter years, her favorite thing to do was sit on the porch with her husband and watch the humming birds. She married Charles L. Stafford Sr. in West Point on November 29, 1950 and he predeceased her on August 6, 2013. They were married for 62 years.
A private family graveside service will be held from McPherson Cemetery with Reverend Doran Henry officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include her four sons, Lewis Stafford (Martha Gail), Cliff Stafford (Cathy), Mark Stafford (Beverly) of West Point and Steve Stafford (Margaret Ann) of Biloxi: fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Miller Francis of Plantersville, one brother, Jimmy Edwards (Pam) of Cedar Bluff and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Edmund Miller, Brett Miller, Staff, Nurses and Friends at Dugan Nursing Home and all of her friends in the Siloam Community.
