Amory – Tony Gilliland, 62, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020, at North Mississippi Medical Center – Gilmore, Amory, MS. Born on April 28, 1957, in Amory, MS, he was the son of the late Verlon Doyle Gilliland and Mary Charlene Perry Gilliland.
Tony grew up in Monroe county and graduated from Smithville High School with the class of 1976. He worked in the furniture industry as a general laborer. A member of Splunge Free Will Baptist Church, Tony believed in God and loved his family dearly. Tony enjoyed good food and good company, especially spending precious time with his family and friends.
He liked listening to Country music and just sitting in the warm sunshine soaking up the rays. Tony was an intelligent man, who had great common sense. He was good to everyone he met, was a good brother, and a good friend. He was dearly missed yet the memories he gave will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Tony is survived by his son, Dustin Sandlin, Sulligent, AL; sister, Charlotte Pless, Pisgah Forrest, N; Uncle, Travis Gilliland, Kenosa, WI; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Verlon Gilliland andhis mother, Charlene Perry Gilliland.
