Mr. Bruce Lamar Livingston, 95, died peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the MS State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home. The family invites his friends and those he knew him to share a few words during this time of remembrance.
Born in Abbeville, MS to the late Dexter and Ima Williams Livingston, Mr. Livingston served as a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII. He was a purple heart recipient and awarded a distinguished service ribbon following his honorable service. Following his military service, his love of flying led him to serve as a volunteer pilot for the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Livingston was and electrician by trade and retired from the University of Mississippi where he was the longtime HVAC Foreman. He was an avid football fan and loved his Ole Miss Rebels and New Orleans Saints. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Livingston and Woodrow Livingston and a sister, Inez Livingston Castle.
Survivors include his son, Greg Livingston of Abbeville, MS and three grandchildren, Katie White of Oxford, MS, Parker Livingston of Abbeville, MS and Peyton Livingston of Milan, TN.Memorial contributions in Mr. Livingston’s memory may be made to MS State Veterans Home, 120 Veterans Drive, Oxford, MS 38655.
In honor of Corporal Livingston’s service to his country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
