Mrs. Fontel Dyess “Fonz” Harvey, 84, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at her home in Oxford, MS. The graveside service will be on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 4:00 P.M. at Eastover Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Charles Lipe officiating.
Born in Hickory, MS to the late Tressie Stewart and John Collins Dyess, Mrs. Harvey was the widow of Mr. Charles H. Giles and Mr. James G. Harvey. She was beloved caregiver to many throughout her career and enjoyed traveling and sightseeing all over the United States. She cherished her family and will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Dyess.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas “Tommy” Giles and his wife, Lori of Oxford, MS and Joel Giles and his wife, Dawn of Pensacola, FL; three grandchildren, Thomas “Collins” Giles, Jr. and his wife, Courtney, Joel “Austin” Giles and Haleigh Giles and one great-grandchild, Rylee Giles.
