Mary Janet Stark

Mary Janet Stark, age 73, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully Saturday, July 4, 2020, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home. She was born January 25, 1947, in Vardaman, MS to the late Everett and Donie (Reedy) Akins. After graduating school, Mary started her working career at Kellwood Mfg. in Coffeeville, and later Holley Carburetor in Water Valley, where she eventually retired. She enjoyed flowers, sewing, and painting scenery as well as still life. Mary was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, July 7, 2020, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. James Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in Coffeeville, MS with Perry Arbuckle, Roger Arbuckle, Jeff Arbuckle, Matt Arbuckle, Michael Operie, Andy Fly, Robert Caulder, and Justin Haire serving as pallbearers.

Mary is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Charles Stark; three sons, Phillip Stark (Carla) of Horn Lake, MS, David Stark of Oxford, MS, Tracy Stark (Richelle) of Corinth, MS; one daughter, Tammy McGovern (Martin) of Rockwall, TX; two brothers, J.W. Akins of Mantee, MS, Tony Akins of Coffeeville, MS; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

As well as her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Kenny Akins.
