Jettie Inez Martin

January 18, 1926 – July 10, 2020

Ms. Jettie Inez Miller Martin, 94, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Shearer Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona, Mississippi. She was born in Una, Mississippi on January 18, 1926 to Author Hill Miller and Jettie Mae Henley. She was a retired furniture manufacturing employee for Shannon Chair Company and a member of Amity Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be at held at Houston Funeral Home in Houston, Mississippi at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 12, 2020 with Bro. Scott Griffin officiating.

Burial will be at Prospect Cemetery in Houston, Mississippi.

Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Martin is survived by her daughter, Ann Coggins of West Point; her son, John T. (Kay) Martin of Houston; her daughter-in-law, Doretta Martin of Starkville; her sisters, Mildred Johnson of Oak Dale, LA, and Emma Jean Hoover of California; her brother, C. E. Miller of Florida; her grandchildren, Nicole (Tommy) Gill, Austen Martin, Cara Martin, Brandy (Gene) Kimbrough, Eric Martin, Marty (Angie) Coggins, Paul (Pat) Coggins, Kathy (Joe) Williams, and Kelly (Bobby) McRaney, her 18 great- grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Houston Funeral Home on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 2:00 P.M.- 3:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Colton Byars, Eric Martin, Geron Gill, Paul Coggins, and Marty Coggins.

Ms. Martin is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, Thomas E. “Fesser” Martin, her son, Billy Ray “Booboo” Martin, and her numerous siblings.

  1. Dear Martin family, you have my deepest sympathy. Death cause such sorrow and pain, but there is hope. In Gods word the bible you can gain comfort in knowing that He will resurrect your love one. Acts 24:15 gives you that promise. So you can look forward to seeing your dear love one again.
