Raymond Paul Harless (88) lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 14,2020. Paul was a Marine Corp veteran who served statewide during the Korean War teaching electronics to military troops before they were shipped over seas. After leaving the military Paul taught math and physics in Missouri before returning to Mississippi to teach electronics at Northeast Mississippi Community College for 14 years. Later he taught math and physics in the Prentiss County school system at Wheeler and Jumpertown before retiring. Paul loved teaching and meeting new people. He was an outgoing person who loved to talk with anyone he met. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Harless is survived by his daughters; Lisa Harless of Wheeler and Cindy Sanders (Jeff Romine) of Pontotoc, and their mother; Marie McCoy Harless, his granddaughters; Katie Sanders and Elizabeth Berry, his great-granddaughters; Jayla Sanders, Claudia Berry (Hunter Jackson) and Emerille Berry, his great great-grandson; Sebastian Shumpert and a host of nieces and nephews, special friends; Lonnie Murphy, Donnie Dunaway and Bro. Marty Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents; Virgil and Stella White Harless, his sisters; Helen Harless and Lenore Boop, his brother; Lonnie Harless. Paul will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Marty Roberts and Lonnie Murphy officiating. Due to the Covid Virus there will be no public visitation. Services will be graveside for immediate family only.
