AMORY – Gloria Anne Weaver Lettieri, 82, realized the promises of her faith when she departed this life on Saturday evening from the NMMC-Hospice Unit. Ann was born on June 22, 1938 in Itawamba County, one of 14 children born to Charles Weaver and Mae Williams Weaver. She lived in several locations as a child and youth and graduated from Hume High School in Memphis where Elvis graduated. She married Frank Lettieri on Sept. 12, 1966 in Jacksonville, FL. They lived several years in Tupelo and were motel owner/operators in Okolona and Etowah, TN. Anne later became an assistant teacher at Green St. School in Tupelo and enjoyed many years loving her “school” children. A delightful, full of life, independent personality, Anne loved her family and took honor in being called Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. A skilled oil painter and the best “green thumb” when it came to plants, Anne spent lots of time with family and thoroughly enjoyed old time Southern Gospel music. In her last years, her dog Yogi was very special to her as were her hummingbirds and red birds.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Chaplain Bret McKee officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by her granddaughter, Annaliese. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 AM-service time on Wednesday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their neighbors. The service may be viewed for those who may be unable to attend at 11 AM Wed. at www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming.
