William “Scott” Cayson

November 11, 1959 ~ July 25, 2020 (age 60)

BLUE SPRINGS – William Scott Cayson, 60, died Saturday morning at 10:41 am at North Miss. Medical Center after a brief illness.  Scott was born November 11, 1959 in Tupelo to the late Dennis Cayson and Barbara Pickens Cayson.  He lived his entire life in Northeast Miss.  Scott graduated from Shannon High School, attended ICC and later attended Delta State University where he played football and enjoyed the cultural features of the Mississippi Delta.  Scott worked many years as a tool and die man for Krueger Metal and was later a partner in C and C Grocery and Quick Stop with his dad.  After becoming disabled, he spent a lot of time in nature especially fishing.  He loved watching football on TV and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  He walked daily to keep physically fit.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 3 PM Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors.  Private burial will follow in Brewer Cemetery.  Visitation for the public will be from 2 PM-service time on Monday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends.

Scott leaves his nephew, Dennis Alvon Cason and his wife, Sandie of Blue Springs; a niece, Dorothy Anny Cayson and 3 great nieces; Gracie Mae Cayson, April Lyn Byrd and Shelby Burke.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
