David Howell Pugh

January 18, 1935 – February 25, 2021

Cedar Bluff, MS – David Howell Pugh, 86, passed away on February 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born January 18, 1935 in Beaverton, AL to Maude Akers and Elmer Pugh. He graduated from West Point High School in 1954 and married Nelda Ivy in May of 1958. David was a veteran of the National Guard 223rd Batallion. He started out with Bryan Foods as a truck driver and eventually became a salesman for the company and retired after 37 years. David was a kind and caring husband, father and grandfather who loved being outside. He also enjoyed gardening and just simply working on stuff.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 28, 2021, 2:00pm at Christ United Methodist Church in West Point with Reverend Jeff Shannon officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Gina Whitt of Cedar Bluff; two sons, James David Pugh of Marietta, GA, and Kevin Pugh (Kimberly) of Cedar Bluff; four grandchildren, Nolan Whitt, Lacey Whitt, Ivy Kendall Page (Matthew) and Holly Catherine Pugh; four great grandchildren, Maddux Howell Pugh, Thomas Robinson, Trinity Robinson and Georgia Kate Page. Preceding him in death were his wife, Nelda Ivy Pugh; one brother, Herman Pugh and one sister, Johnnie Mae Hall.

Pallbearers will be Dale Hawkins, Danny Ivey, Bill Pointer, Jimmy Rhea, Wayne Brand and Michael Patterson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Men's Club at Christ United Methodist Church and North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice.
