Glen Green

May 5, 1946 ~ March 6, 2021 (age 74)

Glen Green, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021 at his home in Jumpertown, Mississippi. Glen was born on May 5, 1946 to Charlie Ed and Olive (Storey) Green. Glen married his high school sweetheart and Jumpertown High School Homecoming Queen Joyce Windham on March 12, 1965, and they remained devoted to each other from that day forward and were just 6 days away from their 56th wedding anniversary.

Glen is survived by his wife, a brother Bruce Green (Lisa), a sister Connie Cole, sons Bently (Melody), Ashley (Olga), daughters Kellye Garrett (Gary), and Julie Green (Jason Prentiss), as well as grandchildren Andrea Mabry (Austin), Bently Green Jr., Walker Green, Farris Green, Angel Green, Secilia Green, Belen Green, Mollie Brown, Olivia Joyce Garrett, Gracen Garrett, Lexie Michael, Allison Michael, Benson Prentiss, Jasie Prentiss, and Trey Prentiss. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charlie Dale, John, Gaylon, and Larry; and a sister Kay Smith. Pallbearers will be Don Windham, Brian Windham, Greg Windham, Hollis Green, Eric Cole, Ray Nash, Mathew Green, and Kevin Hagler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Freddie Dean Geno, Freddie Geno, Bradley Geno, Casey Lott, Bubba Pounds, Mike Huddleston, Larry Lambert, Mike Kesler, Eddie Murphy, Matt Murphy, Jimmy Weatherby, Travis Childers, Bubba Lott, and Joey Langston.

Glen lived his life for the love of his family; all of whom loved him dearly in return. Glen was a hardworking over-achiever in everything he took on and was known for his relentless energy in every endeavor. He spent his early years in construction and eventually started his own company with Dennis Jumper; he was later a founding partner in Armstrong Construction, and then later a partner and owner of Master Bilt. In 1999, he ran for and won election as 2nd District Supervisor for Prentiss County and served in that position for 12 years. Never one to rest or sit at home, even in retirement Glen chose to work, and ran the Jumpertown Service Station. He was extremely proud of his family and grandchildren and could talk about any achievement of theirs for hours. Glen will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, March 7, 2021 and a funeral service will be at Noon on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Kesler Funeral Home – Booneville Chapel on 114 Gaston Road, Booneville, Mississippi (https://www.keslerfuneralhome.com/booneville-chapel); with a brief visitation beginning at 11 am prior to the funeral. A processional for family and friends will convene to Jumpertown Cemetery following the funeral service.

The family respectfully requests that attendees wear masks and maintain social distancing in this time of grief and mourning. As much as Glen would be honored by anyone’s attendance, he would not want anyone to risk their health or lives to do so.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Building the Cross.
