Randy Sloan

April 20, 1979 – April 15, 2021

Randy Sloan, 41 passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 on the Sloan family homeplace where he had lived his entire life. He was born on April 20, 1979 in Amory to Larry and Mary Whitaker Sloan. Randy was a graduate of Hatley High School Class of 1997. Randy grew up on the family farm and his child hood was spent with his many aunts, uncles and cousins that also called the farm home. To say the least, Randy was adventurous and innovative as a child. He often impressed his family with his inventions and whit. He loved to understand how things worked, why they worked and what did they do. This would ultimately lead him to be a master mechanic. Randy spent several years at Stribling Equipment Company as a road mechanic eventually working his way up to Service Manager. Later on, he ventured out on his on and was an expert mechanic on forestry equipment. A man with a great personality, Randy made many many friends along lifes way. The latter years of his life were spent with his devoted wife, Debbie by his side. He enjoyed being with his family, hunting, gardening and collecting antique vehicles and equipment. Randy was also an accomplished musician, playing almost any kind of instrument he would pick up. To know Randy was to love Randy and his family knows beyond a shadow of doubt that he is now with God in the great eternal where there will be no more sickness or death.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Sloan; parents, Larry and Mary Sloan; son, Jordan Sloan and Tyler Burt; daughters, Tabatha Rogers (Justin)and Briana Rogers (Nic); sister, Amber Sloan; grandchildren, Kain, Khloe, Kolbie, Justin, Randi Nova and Sebastian ; niece Alice Wright; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Whitaker and Kathy Reich; Acquilis “Ack” Sloan, Hortense and Jack Palmer; uncles, Mitchell Whitaker and Lynn Sloan; cousins, Jerry Sloan and Barry Sloan, niece Kayla Prestridge.

Funeral Services will be held at 7 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home with Chuck Moffett officiating. A private burial will be in Hatley Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Sloan, Tyler Burt, Justin Rogers, Nic Rogers, Andy Sloan and Dan Garrett.
