Beverly Lou Thompson

January 16, 1944 – June 15, 2021

West Point, MS – Beverly Thompson, 77, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Beverly was born January 16, 1944 in Wichita, KS to the late Mary Louise Hoag and John Long. She retired from Bryan Foods after 13 years and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Beverly graduated from Mount Carmel Academy of Wichita in 1962. She went on to marry the love of her life, Bill Thompson, in October of 1967 and had two daughters and one son. Beverly dearly loved her family but especially enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren. She loved gardening and being outdoors as she was an avid animal lover. Later in life she enjoyed playing tennis and softball and watching baseball. Beverly’s love of life in general will continue through all that knew her.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, June 18 at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point with graveside funeral services at 1:00 PM in Cooksville Methodist Church Cemetery, Macon with Pastor Glenn Miller officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Thompson of West Point; two daughters, Bridget Thompson Magers of West Point and Amy Hamilton of Hazel Green, AL; one son, John Thompson (Patience) of Hazel Green, AL; six grandchildren, Dalton Magers, Brett, Austin and Harley Thompson, Hayden and Harper Hamilton and one sister, Janice Caire. Beverly was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Greg and Dudley Long.

Family members will serve as Pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bud Watt, Dr. Edmund Miller, NP Brett Miller, Rebecca Stanford, her Sunday School Class at FBC, Bill Ladd and Wayne Stewart.
