A Celebration of Life Service for Vera D. Crum, 94, is set for 2:00 pm Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Kelley Zellner, Eric Austin and Jeremy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Crum Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 and Sunday from 12:00 to service time.

Vera died October 21, 2021 at her residence. She was born January 7, 1927 in Alcorn Co. MS to the late Clifton and Pearl Derrick. She was of the Apostolic Holiness faith. She was a long time seamstress doing upholstery for many years until her health declined. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Crum; son, Samuel Crum; parents; grandchildren, Jamicah Austin and Derrick Ray; brothers, Gene, Autry and Roosevelt Derrick; and sisters, Lillie Butler and Shirley Rickett.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Austin; daughters, Gladys Jones (Jerry), Delilah Knight (Mike), and Patsy Moss (Terry); brother, Ray Derrick (Paulette); sister, Ida Jones; grandchildren, Carla Allen (Charles), Anthony Jones, Kevin Jones, Jeremy Jones, Eric Austin, Mark Loveless, Timothy Loveless and Adam Moss; nineteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; special niece, Geneva Moss (Wayne); and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Jones, Kevin Jones, Mark Loveless, Colton Jones, Adam Moss, Anthony Jones, Jeff Moss, and John Ray.

  1. Dear Crum family, I’m sorry for you loss an you have my deepest condolences. The loss of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from Gods word the Bible. Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved one again. A promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of encouragement for the family.
