BREWER COMMUNITY – Donald Eugene Dye, Sr., 90, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo after several years of declining health.  Don was born in the Brewer Community of Lee County on January 5, 1931, to the late Carl Davis Dye and Cleo Long Dye. He grew up there and graduated from Shannon High School.  He worked for a period at the Ammunitions Plant at Prairie but soon choose his lifelong profession as a car dealer.  Don owned Dye and Pierce on Gloster St. for years and finished out his long years of providing quality used cars to people all over Northeast Miss. as owner of Don Dye and Son Motors. Don loved his flashy pickups over the years and enjoyed a lifetime of splendid relationships with his many customers in the car business he loved.  Don enjoyed his family and spending time with them.  He had many pets over the years he cherished especially his dogs.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Matthew Miller, his grandson-in-law, officiating.  Private family burial will follow in the Dye family plot at Petty’s Cemetery in Brewer.  Visitation will be from Noon-service time Monday only.  For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming.

Don is survived by his two sons, Darian Dye and wife, Robyn and Don Dye, Jr. and wife, Susanne all of Pontotoc; the mother of his children, Jean Dye Miller; his grandchildren, including Rachel Miller, Norah Miller, and Joseph Dye; and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant child Pamela and a sister, Margie Kimmer.
