James Alvin Owens

James Alvin Owens, Jr., 60, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born October 29, 1961, to James Alvin Owens, Sr. and Shelby J. Northcutt Owens. James enjoyed collecting coins and working on cars. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Thorn Community.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Booneville Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Bro. Charlie Hamblin will be officiating. Booneville Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
James is survived by his two sons, Jamie Owens (Carrie) of Booneville and Jordan Owens of Houston, MS; one daughter, Magen McCusker (Mike) of Madison, MS; his mother, Shelby Owens of Booneville; brother, Keith Owens of Booneville; sister, Cindy Chase of Corinth, MS; two granddaughters, Maryann Owens and Sophia Owens both of Booneville; and the mother of his children, Martha McVey Owens of Houston, MS.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Ann Shockley.
