Jimmy Nelson

Funeral services for Jimmy Dale Nelson, 74, will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Bro. Trent Nethery will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time all at the Bethlehem Church.

Mr. Nelson died Friday, January 28, 2022 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born July 29, 1947 to the late James B. and Valerie Lucille Sanders Nelson. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a sawmill operator who enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Opal Mae Bobo Nelson; daughter, Dale (Danny) Tavares; grandchildren, Makayla (Brandon) Purviance, Kalani Tavares, and Leilani Tavares; great-grandchildren; Kaelin Purviance and Keoni Purviance; brothers, Phillip (Kaye) Nelson, Kenny (Frankie Henson) Nelson and Lawrence (Wanda) Nelson; sisters, Lenda Bobo, Brenda (Charles) Null, Helen Dildy and Sandra (Donald) Crum; sister-in-law, Sherry Nelson; and brother-in-law, Levoyd Wilbanks

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Glenda Nelson and Judy Wilbanks; brother, Terry Nelson; and brother-in-laws; Tony Dildy, Richard Bobo.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Nelson, Lawrence Nelson, Phillip Nelson, Anthony Bobo, Donald Crum, and Danny Tavares.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Lewis, Justin Lewis, James Lewis and Kalani Tavares.
