Mrs. Brewer was born on July 6, 1955, in Enterprise, AL to the late Derald and Jeri Oliphant and was a longtime member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. From a young age, Elaine forged her way through life with a steadfast work ethic while modeling a life full of grace and beauty. She set an example for her family as an entrepreneur, creating and building her own business and fulfilling multiple roles as publisher, editor and owner of Southern Shopper, a trade magazine. In addition, she found great fulfillment as a realtor, guiding prospective home buyers through the process of selecting a house and making it a home. Her family smiles as they remember her grace and the elegant way she carried herself, always well dressed and with poise. Elaine was a wonderful hostess and delighted in hosting friends and families for dinners and parties but especially loved decorating during the Holidays. During the Christmas season, her house was a winter wonderland, filled with tradition and beautiful decorations that she collected throughout the years. Her creativity and knack for design was apparent in not only her home but in the homes of friends and family that looked to her for assistance in decorating. She was a woman of all trades who dabbled in crafting and found great joy in floral design. Along with her family, she loved to travel, see new places and revisit the places she loved. Above all, her greatest joy was found in the love she had for her family and her children and her greatest role in life was that of a mother. Her children remain thankful for her lessons of strength, hospitality and generosity. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Oliphant Bailey.
Mrs. Brewer is survived by her husband, Danny Brewer of Oxford; a daughter, Christen Kara Coleman of Oxford; a son, Jesse “Cole” Coleman of Oxford; a sister, Hope Oliphant Davis and her husband, Richie of Hernando, MS; a brother-in-law, Dale Bailey of Oxford; a grandson, Gavin Coleman of Oxford; three nephews, Steve Jenkins, Matthew Jenkins and Trenton Davis and one niece, Morgan Davis Foshee.
