Martin Cary Roy

Mr. Martin Cary Roy, 79, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. The funeral will be Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Hilton Lane officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Abbeville Cemetery.

Mr. Roy was born May 12, 1943, in Abbeville, MS to the late M.C. and Marguerite Roy. A native of Lafayette County, he was an avid Ole Miss fan and graduate of University High School. He attended The University of Mississippi, obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education. Mr. Roy was a member of U.S. Air Force, serving as Staff Sargent from 1965 to 1970. He retired as a construction worker after spending 50 years in the industry. During this time, he also taught in the military and in high school education. In his free time, Mr. Roy loved to spend time on the bayou fishing, or devote an afternoon to a good book.

Mr. Roy was survived by his daughter, Hannah Roy of Moss Point, MS; sons, Jason Roy and his wife, Carla of Ocean Springs, MS, Michael Roy of Chicago, IL, and Nick Roy of Houston, TX; and a grandson, Justin Roy of Ocean Springs, MS.
