David Malcolm Reynolds passed away on July 29, 2022 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. He was 94. David was born August 6, 1927 to Henry Hamilton and Mary Lucy Reynolds and grew up at 404 Greensboro Street in Starkville. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served on the USS Wyman until discharged in 1946.
David worked for most of his life at VanLandingham Lumber Company. After retiring, he worked delivering cars and also as a courier for local banks. He was a devoted life long member of Adaton Methodist Church where he was a Lay Leader for several years, Sunday School Teacher and Song Leader among other jobs.
He married Louise Duke on February 12, 1947.
He is survived by his children, David A. Reynolds (late Barbara Reynolds) and Ginger R. Kornegay (Stanley), all of Starkville, MS. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, Michelle Johns (William) of Germantown, TN, Melvin Reynolds (Hanna) of Gainesville, GA, Sonya Woodie (Jodie) of Bethlehem, GA, Rhonda Warren (Todd) of Brandon, MS, Angela McClelland of Flowood, MS, Misty Betts (Stevie) of Pontotoc, MS, Dawne Gibson (Tommy) of Cottondale, AL, Mike Kornegay (Ashley) of Moundville, AL, Jason Wright of Aberdeen, MS, Shannon Wright (Tiffany) of Caledonia, MS, Lisa Crocker of Memphis, TN, and Lynn Crocker of Southaven, MS. He was blessed with 23 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Louise Duke Reynolds, his parents, 8 siblings, daughter, Lexie R. Speed, infant son, and a granddaughter, Dawn Wright.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 9:00-11:00 at Adaton Methodist Church in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in Adaton Methodist Church Cemetery.
