Brinkley Kathryn “Kitty” Gaia

Brinkley Kathryn “Kitty” Gaia (78) of Germantown, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 30, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. The funeral will be Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home with Pastor John Allen May officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery.

She was born on March 26, 1944, to the late Fred and Peggy Lewis. She met her father, who later became a Delta Airlines Captain, when she was 6 months old as he was serving in the Army Air Force during WWII.

Brinkley was Vice President at First American Title Co. with the agency responsibility for national accounts for the state of Arkansas until her retirement. She also contributed to bringing Crime Stoppers to Memphis. She was very active in Republican politics, Bible Study Fellowship, the Oxford Garden Club, and her churches, Independent Presbyterian in Memphis and after moving to Oxford at Christ Presbyterian. She was married to the late William Gerald Gaia in 1967 for 50 years until his passing in 2017. Brinkley and Gerald were devoted Ole Miss sports fans.

She leaves her two daughters, Jole Gaia Lovelace (Jason) and Heather Wynne-Phillips; six granddaughters, Austin Lesley May (John Allen), Julianne Lesley, Meredith Lesley, Garner Lesley Keppen (Trey), Hayden Lovelace, and Sawyer Lovelace; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Strong (Ed) and Mary Lewis; and a brother, the late Fred Lewis.
