Betty Rose (Peek) Lukens

Betty Rose Peek Lukens died at the age of 88 on September 15th at home in Saltillo. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lukens, her parents, Loit and Dell Peek of De Queen, Arkansas and her brother, Mike Peek of Mena, Arkansas.

Survivors include her daughter, Kim Richards of Saltillo, her son, Kyle Lukens (Jennifer) of Saltillo, her grandchildren, Maddy Moore (Tyler) and Chelsea Sparks (Hunter) of Guntown, Ian Richards(Krystin) of Mesa, Arizona, and Erik Richards of Sierra Vista, Arizona. Na-Na has three great-grandchildren, Gavin Santiago, Harlee Richards and Jack Sparks and one more, Baylor Moore, on the way. Her beloved dog, Finley, also survives.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, aunt and a cherished friend to many. She attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman, worked in insurance and quit working to be a wife and mother until her kids were older. Betty went on to have a long career at the State Farm Sunland Regional Office in Tempe, Arizona. A Catholic by faith, she was a learned and avid reader, loved football esp. the Kansas City Chiefs and University of Oklahoma Sooners, politics, and the Voice. A wonderfully amazing lady, Betty was completely devoted to her family and was revered by them.

A memorial service honoring her life and memory will take place at 11 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. Visitation will be from 10 AM-service time.
