Bobby U. Tharp

A memorial service for Bobby U. Tharp, 82, will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Lawton, TN. Visitation will begin at 12 noon until service time.

Bobby passed away on September 19, 2022 at Hardin County Medical Center in Savannah, TN. He was born on March 25, 1940 in Saddle, Arkansas to the late Jess and Lottie Nickels Tharp. He worked for DuPont in Millington, TN and retired when he was 55. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and was an avid Arkansas Razorback and Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed boating, hunting and riding 4-wheelers but most importantly he loved being with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Rena Crabb (Danny) and Brittany Tharp (Bryan Smith); grandchildren, Brandie Porch (Matt), Olivia Adcox (Josh) and Leela Tharp; great-grandchildren, Walker Porch, Sadie Porch, Hayden Porch, Khloi Adcox and Jep Rowe; brother, Jerry Tharp (Linda); sister, Euretta Smith (Alfred); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Douglas, Donald Dean, Jessie, Jimmie and Hubie Tharp; and sisters, Mary Lou Bennett, Peggy Sue Stone and Melba Jean Bowers.
