Lawrence Jacob Davis, 68, transformed from this life to his life in eternity from his Tupelo residence on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Mr. Davis was born in Fort Rucker, Alabama on Feb. 11, l954 to the late Rubbin Willie Davis and Sudie Lessie Buckhannon Davis. He grew up in Alabama, worked several years in Georgia and moved to Tupelo 18 years ago. He spent his working life as a house painter and working in maintenance for the hotel industry, until becoming disabled. Lawrence was a trader of anything and everything and a collector of many things. A Baptist, he was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” fan.
A local service will be held at 12:30 PM Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 1511 Debro Street in Tupelo, in his neighborhood where he enjoyed his neighbors. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM Center West Baptist Church Cemetery near Delta, Alabama (86 CR 313, Delta, Ala 36258) He will be buried in the Davis family plot there. The family will visit 30 minutes prior to the service. Everyone is encouraged to wear blue jeans and dress casual) Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
Lawrence is survived by his 2 children, Chasity Sexton (Daniel) of Wellington, Ala. and Clint Davis (Stephanie) of Oxford, Ala. ; 5 grandchildren, Madison Vinson (Dylan), Cody Sexton, Cali Sexton, Cash Davis and Caden Davis. 1 great grandchild, Stella James Vinson; his siblings, Sarah Burroughs (Doug) of Smith Station, Ala, Gloria Lester (Jesse) of Birmingham, Ala, Wllie Sue Miller (J.T., deceased) of Blue Springs, Ms. and Dianna Ojeda (Steve) of Georgia, sister in-law, Cathy Davis of Delta, AL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Dianne Davis Lowery, Dale Davis and Carolyn Herrin.
