Ruby Nell Peets

Ruby Nell Peets, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at her daughter’s residence in Huntsville, AL. Ruby was born on February 11, 1930 to Ottis and Armorilla Gilliam Winters. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. Ruby lived in Greenville and enjoyed cooking and yard work.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Tillman officiating; burial will follow in the Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Selby (Dennis); a daughter-in-law, Sue Peets; a sister, Jean Dunaway; two brothers, James Winters (Elizabeth) and Jerry Winters; four grandchildren, Jennifer Selby Freer (Jonathan), William Casey Selby (Jenny), Jason Peets (Reagan) and Melissa Peters (Troy); and six great-grandchildren, Harrison and Harper Freer, Aiden and Dylan Peets and Olivia and Emerson Peters, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Monroe Peets; a son, Jimmy Peets and a sister, Lynn Franks.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
