Jacob Edward Doorenbos

Saltillo- Jacob Edward Doorenbos was born April 7, 1993. He passed away peacefully at the age of 29 at his home in Saltillo, MS, on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Jacob was a beloved son and brother, who despite his disabilities, always enjoyed being in the middle of it all. Every time he attended his siblings’ activities including football games, band performances, and theater productions, he always had a smile on his face. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, and watching his favorite TV programs. He attended Lee County Schools Multiple Disabilities program and was a member of Saltillo Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Donald Pounders officiating. Burial will be in Ingram Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Lissa Doorenbos of Saltillo; father, David Doorenbos (Judy) of Mooreville;

sister, Barbara Doorenbos (Jacob Jackson) of Athens, AL; brothers, Garrett Doorenbos (DJ) of Athens, AL and John Vardaman Doorenbos of Oxford; aunts, Gay Pounders (Donald) and Anita Newsom of Baldwyn; cousins, Rebecca Mathis, Martha Vance, Bryan Pounders, Melissa Hardwick, Andy Newsom, Suzanne Cruea and all of their families; and also extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death his grandparents, Sue Gamble and Gene Gamble, Fumiko Ikemori, Norman Doorenbos; aunt, Linda Gamble Medlin and his uncle Bob Newsom.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Doorenbos, Barbara Doorenbos, John Vardaman Doorenbos, Jacob Jackson, Bryan Pounders and Andy Newsom.

Honorary pallbearers will be his nurses Amy Malon Owen, Debbie Stolz, and Andrea Whitson.

Visitation will be Sunday at Waters Funeral Home from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
