Winne Mae Greszler

Baldwyn-Winnie Mae Greszler, 82 years old, of Baldwyn, Mississippi, passed away on February 3, 2023 in the presence of family at her home.

Winnie was born on October 18th, 1940 in Nettleton, Mississippi to parents Price Edwards and Earlene Edwards who have preceded her in death.  She was one of five daughters born to Price and Earlene, her sisters are Faye Tartt (deceased), Charlene Edwards (deceased) Dot Kelly of Tupelo, MS and Hilda Stafford of Palmetto, MS.

There will be a Mass Of Resurrection Celebration held at St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo on Tuesday, February 07, 2023 @ 1:00 P. M.with Father RajR Xavier and Father Henry Shelton officiating. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Winnie is survived by her husband Gary Greszler of Baldwyn MS.   Gary and Winnie married in  1993 and have spent the last 29 years loving and doting on one another.  Friends and family would quickly testify that their love for each other was vibrant and exemplary of what a great marriage should be like.  Gary faithfully stayed by Winnie’s side until the last moment of her life ever serving and loving his bride.

Winnie is  survived by four children from her first marriage to Billy Oliver (deceased 1979): daughter Debbie Moss Quitman, MS) daughter Sherry Jarrett of Amory, MS), son Steve Oliver of Broken Arrow, OK and daughter Donna Hilliard of Baldwyn, MS.  She is also survived by one step daughter, Jenny Greszler of Baldwyn, MS  and numerous  grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In Winnie’s early years you might see her at Lake Lee reading a spicy romance novel, tearing up the roads in her “65” Mustang, at a ballgame or fishing.  Her later years you were more likely to catch her reading a good “Western”, cooking Tomato gravy, chocolate gravy or a Red Velvet cake, nursing her many plants and flowers, or sitting with Gary in their dining room watching the deer, ducks, squirrels, and birds down on the beautiful pond that they would be overlooking as they enjoyed a cup of coffee together.

She was fierce and independent and a self-proclaimed black sheep of the family (but in a good way).  She has taught her family how to be tough but tender and has instilled in many of us the will to keep on living and loving.  Thank you Winnie Mae for your spirit and strong will, you will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Matt Hillard, Geofery Wardlow, Josh Wardlow and Robert Greszler.

Visitation will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in her memory be sent to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family @www.watersfuneralservice.com
