Saltillo- William David Humphreys, 62, of Saltillo, MS, passed away on February 4 at NMMC.
David was born on September 5, 1960 to William Frank Humphreys and Clara Steiner Humphreys in Memphis, TN. David was a 1978 graduate of Pine Grove High School and went on to study electrical engineering at Northeast Community College. David built his career over the next 41 years in electrical maintenance and engineering with FMC, Tecumseh, Bryce, Parker Hannifan, ACCO, and AECom/Caterpillar. In 1981, David married Sherry Martin of Baton Rouge, LA. David and Sherry went on to have two children, Joel and Jessica. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the yard, and spending time with his granddaughter. He will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, wit, strong work ethic, and love of classic rock-n-roll.
David was predeceased by his father William Frank Humphreys, mother Clara Steiner Humphreys, and brothers John Humphreys and Bill Humphreys.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Martin Humphreys, son Anthony Joel Humphreys and daughter-in-law Michelle Jackson Humphreys, daughter Jessica Humphreys Moore and son-in-law Cameron Ray Moore, granddaughter Abigail Marie Humphreys, and father-in-law Jimmy Charles Martin.
Visitation will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11 from 12-2 with service to follow at 2:00 P. M. with Bro. Scott Witcher and Bro. Cameron Moore officiating. Burial will be in Euclatubba Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joel Humphreys, Cameron Moore, Tony Ford, Keith Mauney, Brandon Higgins, and Matt Hardy. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Martin, Phillip Whirley, Eddie Bobo, Paul Palmer, Ronnie Duncan, Greg Hall, Robbie King, Tyler McLaurin, Billy Porter, John Montgomery and sons Adam, Casey, and Jason.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
