William Ricketts

A service to celebrate the life of William Ricketts, 83, will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home with burial and military honors to follow in the Corinth National Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 11:00 am until service time. Bro. Warren Jones will officiate the service.

Mr. Ricketts passed away on April 13, 2023 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Yankeetown, IN on February 2, 1940 to the late Hyman and Edna Salee Ricketts. He was a graduate of Lynnville High School in Indiana and upon graduation, enlisted and served our country in the U.S. Army. He was an engineer with the Army Corp of Engineers and traveled and lived all over the world at places such as Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Egypt. He also helped build the Arch in St. Louis. He was a storyteller and loved sharing his experiences from living abroad. In his past time he enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, golf and watching western movies.

He is survived by his son, Todd Ricketts (Regina); daughter, Robin London (Tommy); daughter-in-law, Sandi Ricketts; sister-in-law, Mitzi Ricketts; grandchildren, Tiffany Graham (Brett), Brandon Ricketts, Ben Ricketts, Rosie Ricketts Meyer (Kevin), Jessica London Mitchell (Radie); several great-grandchildren; brothers, Dan Ricketts (Carol), Joe Ricketts and David Ricketts (Sheila); sisters, Judy Writsel and Carole Ricketts; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Ricketts; son, Bill Ricketts; grandson, Seth Ricketts; brother, Thomas Ricketts; and a brother-in-law, Larry Writsel.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the nurses and doctors of the SICU unit of Magnolia Hospital.
